GOLDEN PALM / For clients

The first week, gently.

A calmer approach to unpacking and finding your rhythm in a new home.

A quiet corner with a wood chair and a vase of flowers

The boxes can wait for a moment. A new home becomes easier to settle into when the essentials are working and one small space already feels comfortable.

Make the first night simple.

Keep a separate bag with bedding, toiletries, medicines, chargers, a change of clothes and anything children or pets need immediately. Put drinking water and a few easy meals within reach.

Know the basics of the home.

Locate the main water shut-off, electrical panel and any equipment manuals. Check that you have the correct keys and access information. Ask the appropriate professional to help with unfamiliar systems rather than experimenting.

Unpack by daily need.

Start with the bathroom, a place to sleep and a usable corner of the kitchen. Finish one small area before opening boxes in every room. Keep packing materials together so the space stays easy to move through.

Let the layout evolve.

You do not have to decide where everything belongs on moving day. Try a simple arrangement and notice how you use it. A chair can move; a shelf can wait until you know what you need to store.

Find one familiar ritual.

Make your usual morning drink. Take a short walk. Put on music while you unpack. Small routines give a new place a sense of continuity before the last box is empty.

The goal for the first week is a workable home, not a finished one.
